Our school, in the heart of the community, offers a happy, secure, engaging learning environment which inspires inquisitive minds. We work together to enable everyone to grow in confidence, develop their potential and be the best they can be.
Welcome to Breachwood Green JMI School
Thank you for visiting our website, I hope it provides you with a helpful insight into our village school.
Breachwood Green JMI School is set in the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire and attracts pupils from local villages, Hitchin, Luton and even as far afield as Leighton Buzzard!
As a small, village school, community is incredibly important to us; we are not just an educational setting but also a family and a community, which cares for each child, and their families, individually. Our pupils come from range of cultures, backgrounds and faiths; we enjoy celebrating this diversity through a variety of activities, encouraging pupils to share their own experiences through assemblies enjoyed by the whole school.
Children at Breachwood Green JMI School are cared for and encouraged to flourish by all staff. We take the time to notice each child’s passion and strengths, as well as the areas that need extra nurturing.
Our curriculum has been developed to engage and excite pupils, awakening a curiosity for learning and a desire to know more. We recognise that all pupils learn in different ways and understand the importance of meeting the needs of all.
We encourage pupils to develop resilience and determination preparing them for their bright future and the challenges that lie ahead. Our high expectations ensure that each pupil strives to be the best that they can be.
The only way to know if our great school is right for your family is to come and visit so you can experience it for yourself. Visitors in the past have told us that we have a fantastic atmosphere, well-behaved children and welcoming staff.

The children are loving our new peer reading assemblies, where each week one of our KS2 pupils reads to the rest of the school. It's so nice to see that social distancing doesn't stop our children's enthusiasm for reading to each other! #bwg #believeandachieve https://t.co/xELMOmEn3A
Thanks to @YouthPuppetsUK Class 4 had a creative afternoon adding features to their faces this week. They realised it's harder than you think trying to mix acrylic paints to create different tones of skin colour. Impressive results though! #bwg #believeandachieve https://t.co/gjuFLNySzK
Class 4 had an incredibly productive afternoon yesterday using clay to make the faces of their masks with @YouthPuppetsUK. Whilst the final products look amazing, the children's skills were definitely tested! #bwg #believeandachieve https://t.co/tk0Va79pgd
So lovely to be see the beautiful Harvest displays in the hall at lunchtime - thank you Mrs Bridge and Mrs Power! Thanks also to @HCLcatering for giving our hatch area a revamp over the holidays, we think it looks great! #bwg #believeandachieve https://t.co/K6SuyNY20g
