Safeguarding Statement

At Breachwood Green JMI School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Our proactive approach means we don’t just respond to concerns—we work hard to prevent them. We have a comprehensive set of safeguarding policies and procedures in place, all designed to protect children and promote their wellbeing. These are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practice and statutory guidance.

All members of staff receive ongoing training and professional development in safeguarding, ensuring they are confident and well-equipped to identify and respond to any concerns. This includes regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions, updates on legislation, and scenario-based learning to keep safeguarding knowledge fresh and relevant. We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we foster a culture of vigilance and care throughout the school.

We also work in close partnership with families, recognising that strong relationships between home and school are key to keeping children safe. Sometimes, in order to safeguard a child, we may need to share information with other professionals or agencies. We always do this with sensitivity and in line with data protection laws, putting the child’s safety and wellbeing first. If you ever have concerns or questions about safeguarding, please speak to the headteacher—we’re here to listen, support, and act.
